Choose How to Bring Your Cuts into Premiere
TimeBolt handles silence detection and cut review before you continue editing in Premiere Pro. Use the guide below to choose between XML export and the extension workflow. Saving and exporting your edits requires a paid TimeBolt plan.
Two ways into Premiere. Pick your path.
PATH 1: XML / XML SEQUENCE
The fastest way into Premiere, and the preferred path.
One file:
- Cut in TimeBolt (steps 1 and 2 below)
- Click 'XML' at the bottom of TimeBolt
- Drag the XML file into your Premiere media pool
- Double click the sequence icon. Done.
Multiple sources or separate audio: click 'XML Sequence' instead. Cut the master audio, import the sequence, add your other files at 00:00, and the top-level sequence carries every cut.
PATH 2: EXTENSION + JSON
Already assembled in Premiere? The free extension applies your cuts to an existing timeline, clip by clip. Slower than XML Sequence, but it works on the sequence you already built.
Follow steps 1 through 5 below.
Multi-cam? The Multi-Track Editor syncs tracks by waveform, auto switches to the active speaker, and exports straight to Premiere.

Get Settings Right
DB level set from -30 to -40db. Almost always.
Remove silences longer than .2 to .5 sec
Ignore detections keep at .75 sec to cut random noise.
Left Pad .01 - .15 sec
Right Pad .12 - .15 sec always to prevent cutoff of long 's' / 'p' sounds

Cut or keep any scene or word, super fast
Click ‘L’ to start / speed up the playhead
Click ’O’ to turn scenes on / off
Click ’S’ to split the timeline

Extension path: Click 'Save Timeline Cuts'
File is saved as a JSON. Steps 3 to 5 are for Path 2 only. On the XML path you already finished at step 2, just click 'XML' and import into Premiere.

Apply cuts with extension
Apply JSON File to each video and corresponding audio track.
Make sure master audio starts at 00:00 on timeline!

Cut the extra.
Silences and cut clips are stacked at then end of your timeline. (We cannot control this.)
Select and bulk delete.
