TimeBolt has the highest reported mean F1 in these four datasets. The averages have been checked; the underlying token alignment still needs independent verification. These scores do not measure manual cleanup time or establish a statistical tie.

Why it works

Silence, fillers and bad takes. One editing workflow.

TimeBolt combines waveform-based silence cuts with filler and bad-take detection. Set the padding around speech, run the cleanup you need, then listen back and adjust the cut. Silence removal and filler removal are different steps.

Why waveform cuts win

  • The waveform shows audio level over time, helping you place cuts.
  • Check cut boundaries against the audio you hear.
  • Silence detection depends on thresholds, background noise and your recording.
  • You set the padding, so the cadence stays natural, not robotic.

How we tested

These studies were conducted by the TimeBolt team. They cover different recordings and test conditions. Historical results are not a guarantee for your footage or current app versions. This overview was clarified on September 13, 2026; that is not a new test date.

What the numbers mean

Processing: software analysis time. Keep it separate from export, review and repair. The Recut / BlitzCut study reports this separately.
Review: time spent checking an output. The long-form estimates use 1.5× playback for TimeBolt and 1× for other editors.
Repair: estimated manual correction time. Counts of words are not necessarily counts of editing actions. The formulas still need reconciliation.
Hardware and settings: the short-form study identifies a Mac Studio M2 Ultra; the BlitzCut run used an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Some settings were customized. Exact versions and hardware are not fully documented for every run.
Bad takes: reported word-level precision, recall and F1 against reference scripts, averaged across four datasets. This is not an independent third-party benchmark.
Open questions: short-form counts conflict within the original report; the Recut long-form count and test year need confirmation. Disputed figures are withheld here rather than replaced with guesses.
